Toot! Toot! All Aboard!! Women's Wine Society is heading to Ashland for our October event at Ash & Olive!
Members & Friends, please join us for a special wine dinner featuring A Night in Alsace. Ash & Olive is an unexpected gem in the heart of downtown Ashland, right along the railroad tracks that run through the center of town. They specialize in Flame to Table Euro-American cuisine served in a very quaint & relaxing atmosphere. Our experienced wine dinner hosts are looking forward to sharing their special fare with us. Pan-seared trout with a Riesling brown butter, toasted almonds, and lemon.
The riesling echoes the brown butter and lemon in the dish while the natural spritz keeps every bite feeling light.

Egg noodles with crème fraiche, wild boar, caramelized onions, and croutons.
Inspired by a dish Ash & Olive couldn’t stop thinking about at Corde a Linge, Strasbourg.

Braised sauerkraut with Alsation sausages and potatoes
– the dish Alsace is known for, paired here with a Pinot Noir that cuts right through it.

The crisp green apple and white flower notes of this Cremant mirror the tarte’s fresh fruit,

Deadline to register is 6:oo pm. October 18th. We would love to fill some more seats - so we have opened the event for Co-Ed participation. Bring your spouse/partner/friend. After completing their registration information, choose the "Member Payment" option to obtain the Member rate for their attendance.
Doors open at 6:00 pm and we’ll start with a sparkling Cremant while we mingle and catch up with each other. Opening remarks and dinner begin by 6:30 pm.
The restaurant will be closed to the public during our event, so we'll have the place to ourselves! Additional bar service will be available.
Bottles of the featured wines will be available for purchase the evening of the event at prevailing retail pricing.
Parking is available BEHIND the restaurant!

We are a non-profit organization. The event registration fee for members is typically set at our "break-even" point. The fee covers our "all-inclusive" cost to the host for the event, including food, beverages, staff, taxes, gratuity/service charges, and PayPal fees.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Members & Friends, it does seem a little early to say that, but the truth of the matter is, it’s time to start thinking about the upcoming holiday season. And WWS is here to help! This year we’re putting a little different spin on our traditional November event. We are still gathering at a local wine store (Barrel Thief!), and you can still get wine suggestions for your holiday table(s) that fit your menu, your budget, and your crowd size. (Owner, Booth Hardy, will be happy to oblige and even help you stock up!) But for our tasting pleasure this year, we’re treating ourselves to some premium wines that, quite frankly, would just blow the budget if we tried to have them with our typical restaurant-based tasting events. The wines we'll have might make great gift ideas for a wine-loving friend or boss, a special treat for a smaller, more intimate dinner amongst close friends or with your partner, or they might even be a good choice for aging in your personal wine cellar (if that’s your jam).
We don’t know the specific wines we’ll be tasting, but here’s the plan:
· We will begin with a real French Champagne, and we will end with an authentic Italian Amarone.
· In between those bookends will be a premium white, and 2 premium reds.
· We are letting Booth choose the wines (expected price range of $50 - $60-ish, with the exception of the Amarone, which will be $90-ish.)
· We will provide appetizers of various kinds for noshing. (e.g., hand-helds, cocktail party fare)
· There will be two sessions to choose from -- Monday, 11/16 or Tuesday, 11/17.
· 15 people max per session.
